Q: Upon order placement when can I expect my windows?
Once window orders have been placed depending on color and options, standard delivery times are 3-4 weeks for white. If the windows are colored we generally allow a 4-5 week delivery period. Deliveries are based on how busy the plants are at the manufacturers. The spring and summer months from April through to September are usually the busiest times for production which is why we allow the 3-4 week period for standard orders.
Q: Are there different colours available? Is there a price difference between colours?
All of our window and door manufacturers do offer a color option. However, not all window manufacturers use the same colors. When choosing a window or door manufacturer we would provide their color options that they have available. Customers are not limited to color options, each manufacturer has a wide range of colors available to suit the customer’s need.
The additional cost for color approximately 15% higher than standard white.
Q: What is Low-E and Argon gas?
Low-E argon windows are designed to minimize the effects of the outside climate on the interior temperature. When they are used, the interior climate of a home can be maintained longer before the heater or air conditioning must kick in to read just the temperature. This is partly achieved through a double or triple-pane design. Unlike traditional, single-pane windows, multi-paned windows provide additional protection against air leakage.
Between each pane of glass, low-E argon windows contain argon gas. Argon gas is considerably more effective at reflecting heat than regular air. This means that unwanted heat is deterred from entering the home and interior heat is prevented from leaving. Whether in spring, summer, fall or winter, the result is a more stable climate within the home.

Q: Do my windows/doors come with a warranty?
Each window and door manufacturer we use comes with a standard, what they call, “A lifetime warranty”. In all actuality the warranty is 40 years and with some manufacturers, but not all, it is transferable. This warranty covers anything from hardware to defects in the vinyl or window itself. There is also a lifetime warranty on all glass used for the windows. Generally window and door manufactures only cover the labor for a year. For example if a seal failure occurs in one of the windows that is over a year old the manufacturer warranties the glass but does not cover the labor to install the new piece. If this occurs the customer will pay a small service charge of 75.00 for the installation of the new piece of glass.
Q: How do I deal with condensation on my windows?
When condensation occurs on the inside of windows, customers tend to think that the window has failed. There are a lot of factors that go into as to why condensation appears on the glass that does not necessarily mean that there is an issue with the window. Under the right set of conditions it is possible to get condensation such as:
- Inside window surface temperature falls below the dew-point temperature of the room
- Poor air circulation within the home
- Room heating arrangements
- Humidity level in the home
Some remedies for this issue are:
- Open your windows as much as possible to allow the humidity to escape or purchase a dehumidifier which helps reduce the humidity in the home.
- Vent clothes dryers, gas burners etc to the outdoors

Q: What differences are there in siding options?
There are a variety of siding options dependent upon application, aesthetic look, colors and construction of the siding. Some sidings are thicker than others and some are made from different material than others. Q: I want to consider a metal roof, what are the pros and cons?
In the past, metal roofing has been considerably more expensive than shingles. This is not the case any longer. Metal roofs provide a longer life and enhance the look of your home. There are a wide range of styles and colors now available in metal roofing. Our staff at REP can assist in providing metal options for your roof as well as recommend qualified installers for the job.
Q: Do I have to purchase all my windows at once?
Certainly not. We have worked with many customers who, depending on their budget, replace windows as they can afford to do so. We keep our window quotes on hand for an extended period of time so that customers have the option of replacing one or several windows at a time. We are more than happy to advise you of which windows need the most attention, and which windows can wait for replacement.
Q: Are there considerations on the type of railing I purchase?
There are several building codes that dictate the height of certain railings depending upon the distance of the ground from the railing level. We have the most up to date industry knowledge in this area and can correctly advise you of current building codes. We can also review glass vs picket railings with you so that you can make a comprehensive decision on what is best for your home.
Q: Do you provide material for the DIY customer?
Yes, we are happy to meet with you to help you choose all the materials you might need for your exterior home project. Many of our products come with detailed instructions on applications for the DIY person.
